No. Browsing the trade catalogue and submitting for merchant quotes is always free and does not require any AI features. The AI Quote Builder is an optional tool for anyone who wants a complete, priced material list generated from a job description, it starts free, with paid plans for heavier use.
No. Plenty of our users are homeowners and self-builders pricing up their own extension, patio, garden wall or renovation. You get the same AI material lists and the same access to merchant pricing, being able to buy at proper trade prices is usually the biggest win for a DIY project. The quote, invoice and RAMS document tools are there if you need them, and simply ignored if you do not.
Once you have a material list, whether you built it with the AI or added items manually, you submit it to our network of 120+ UK merchants. That includes local independent builders' merchants and national chains like Travis Perkins, Wickes, Jewson and Toolstation. They respond with their best prices and you pick the winner. Typical savings versus going direct to a single supplier are 15–40%.

On the Free plan, yes, orders placed through our merchant network include a small service fee, already built into the price you are shown. There is nothing to pay us separately and no bill after the fact: the price you accept is the price you pay. It covers the cost of generating your quotes and the human checks behind them. On Site Pack and Trade Pro there is no service fee at all, your subscription covers it, and the prices you receive are exactly what the merchant quoted.
Yes. Both the Trade Price app for tradesmen and the Trade Price Merchant app for suppliers are free to download from the Apple App Store. The tradesmen app includes the same free plan as the website, and merchants pay nothing to receive and bid on job requests.
